Patient and Public Involvement

Expert Patients Programme

The User Groups are there to ensure the Trust takes into account the views of patients, carers and other users in any major service changes or developments. All of the Groups meet individually and bi-monthly.

The following User Groups have been established in the Trust:

The Ethnic Minority Advisory Group (formerly known as the Black and Ethnic Minority Advisory Group) has been highly successful in feeding back the views and needs of local users to hospital staff.

The Disability Advisory Group has played a key role in raising the Trust's awareness on disability matters and advising on the Social Model of disability.

The Carer Advisory Group aims to promote an understanding about the significance of the carers role in relation to both the well being of the patient and the carer. Note there is a separate Patient and Carer Advisory Group at the Good Hope hospital.

If anybody would like more information or would like to register their interest in becoming a member then they should contact Catherine Williams on  (0121) 424 3322 - Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm or email  catherine.williams@heartofengland.nhs.uk
